Planning Your Window Replacement Project
A little preparation helps us understand your home and what you’d like to improve.
Start With Your Current Windows
Living in Clovis means experiencing the best of the Central Valley: sunny summers, cool winter mornings, and the occasional dust-filled breeze. But those same conditions can take a toll on outdated or inefficient windows. If you’ve noticed drafts, rising utility bills, or fading around your window frames, it might be time for an upgrade.
Make a rough count of the windows you want to replace. Note which ones stick, feel drafty, or have worn frames. Photos of the whole opening can help explain the work.
Choose the series, glass, and operation
Lomax offers Premium Window & Doors series with different frame profiles and priorities: Timeless for narrower frames and value, Elegance for a slightly larger frame with even sightlines, Serene for the same Elegance frame with triple-pane glass for greater energy efficiency, and Zenith for black interior and exterior frames.
After choosing the series, compare the operating style and the glass package available for the opening.
Your Free In-Home Consultation
Consultations can take as little as about 20 minutes depending on the scope and your questions. Lomax can bring sample windows to your home, review the openings, discuss product choices, and measure for the project. Pricing is typically prepared within 24 hours of measurement, often sooner.
Plan for installation
Window and door projects typically take about 2–3 weeks from signed contract to completed installation. A typical 8–12 window installation takes about a day and a half. Before the crew arrives, move items beneath each window and leave about 5 feet of clear working space.
Repairs and changes to the work
Stucco and drywall finish work are outside the normal installation scope. If repairs are needed, Lomax discusses the cost with you, brings in a stucco contractor for stucco work, and can usually handle drywall repairs in house.
If an unforeseen condition requires extra work, Lomax discusses the work and cost with you and documents it in a change order before proceeding.
Prepare a Project Brief
Use the project planner to send your window count, door choices, home details, and photos to Lomax. Exact measurements can wait for the consultation. For a simpler start, request a callback instead.
